CIVILIZATION -
.... is a difficult word to define...means much more than growing crops and raising animals; its means more than the invention of writing or the wheel.
No one factor, can account for the rise of what we call civilised society. Each civilization represents an adaption to a unique set of circumstance.
But there is one thing that all civilizations would seem to have in common and that is a
- stratified society
- a degree of specialization: rules, administrators, soldiers, priests, traders, artisans & peasants
THIS, IT SEEMS, IS THE PRICE MANKIND HAS TO PAY FOR BEING CIVILIZED.
